Double check your tire pressure; under-inflated tires can lower your gas mileage. If you are unsure of how much air should be in your tires there is a sticker usually found on the driver’s side door jamb which will tell you the correct tire pressure. The fuel you choose to put inside your vehicle plays apart in the gas mileage you will achieve. 87 octane fuel is what is recommended for newer cars but if you use higher octane fuel, yes it will cost you more at the pump, but overall this is a better choice for your vehicle. There have been reports that you do actually get better gas mileage by using higher octane fuel and it also helps your engine to run better.
